I installed a BSquare base on my .30 Carbine and use a red dot. I have alot of trouble with open sights on handguns. It works real well. Tightened up my groups considerably. I can keep both eyes open and seem to have better target acqusition. It is kind of a pain to carry, but wouldn't go back...
