I'll second what's been said about the pros a bolt gun since you're traveling through and to potentially restrictive states. If I were to remain in unrestrictive states, the AR is definitely more flexible. It's very easy to maintain and clean too.

Or the Charlie. I'm looking to upgrade my M&P 15 handguard. I have a Mgapul MOE on it but want a longer rail to mostly be able to get my support arm out farther. I like to the look of the Troy Delta, I don't need a lot of rail space so prefer a non-quad and I'd also prefer to keep my front sight...

The Magtech is either out of stock, back order Ok or out and and back order not ok. It seems that's the story, hardly anything is available. To me, this is the standby snubbie load. There seems to be plenty of LRN, so I'm not sure it's a range driven thing. Not sure if there is that much demand...

Are the "boutique" manufactures (Buffao Bore, double tap, etc.) the only ones currently offering the old "FBI load"? I can't seem to find any even "out of stock", instead it's discontinued or not available or something. Where is the Remington, Federal or Winchester? Just another part of the ammo...

No, I've got the stock sights on it. I have a Leupold Rifleman weaver rail mounted to the reciever and the Burris attached to it. I can unscrew the Burris FF if needed and still use the stock sights. I expect you won't be able to cowitness, but the Burris is fairly easy to remove should you need to.

I've got a 336ss with a Fastfire II mounted over the reciever. I love it. It doesn't add enough weight to throw off the balance of a good lever action that IMO a scope does. However, it still offers super-quick target acquisition and more precision than a lot of irons.

How's your reliability been KMO?
