To me,the main concern with 22 mag is the misfire concern.rimfire rounds,for me at least have a fail rate of about 5 to 1 compared to centerfire.In a revolver no biggie,just pull the trigger again.Also keep in mind that out of a handgun 22 mag is about the same as 22lr out of a rifle.

I started using trail boss for my 45 colt.it has now become my most used powder in the 45 caliber.Both my 1911's function perfectly with that same load.Great, easy to measure powder in my book.I made my crimp a little stronger to ensure complete burn.

Make sure to check specs. A deep seat+ a firm crimp can be a disaster.

I am unsure about the OSS,but my 1911 has the firing pin lock plunger under the rear sight.The sights can be changed as long as you don't loose the parts under it,as they are spring loaded.

A real attention getter as far as recoil,but take into account that if you miss, the muzzle blast will be a great equalizing force by itself.Try shooting it at night to see and feel the full effect.
