Like you, I'd expect a new gun or at least everything to be replaced considering that's what you had before the kaboom. These guns are far from cheap, so for s&w to skimp on repairs isn't justifiable. It might be too late at this point, but as someone else mentioned maybe look into them...

Well I finally got around to shooting the 340 today. 38 special and 38+p wasn't bad, but 15 rounds of Hornady CD .357 wasn't too much fun. The picture was taken after the first five rounds of 357.

I've been trying to talk myself out of buying this gun for over a year, but once they removed the lock.... At any rate, hopefully I'll get some time to shoot it this weekend.
