    Which AR barrel do you prefer?

    16" M4 style. I like the looks. You don't lose enough valocity to cry about. You can move around in the house with it, if you have to. Lighter. Sight picture doesn't change much compared to a 20". Ad nauseum.

    .223 verses 7.62x39

    Soviet 7.62 makes a bigger hole. That's about it. If you want a real 7.62, get an M1A or a FAL.

    I have used .223 on javelina. It worked just fine.

    I like .40 S&W myself. That's what I carry.

    S&W 457

    What websites are you visiting? I've always read that the 457 is one of those "most bang for the buck" pistols. I don't own one, but I have experience with many S&W pistols, and they have always given stellar service as far as I'm concerned.
