The whole reason the gun won't fire is because the bushing jammed in the channel, keeping the spring from doing what it's supposed to do. I will include the original bushing, but I'm going to ream the hole open slightly so that the bushing is free to slide in and out of the firing pin channel...

I posted the same question on the CZ forum, and another member said his barrel had the same machining on it. I'll keep an eye on the forums, but I'm not concerned about it right now.

I will certainly check out the CZ forum. I have a feeling I'll find out something new and exciting, and start an all new obsession. These CZs just keep multiplying on me. Up to 4 now, and a 97B has been on my list. Thanks for the link.

My question isn't about the finish. If you look at the picture, you'll see the material on top of the barrel is machined away, with the taper getting bigger toward the locking lugs.
