Anywhere to get cheap shoot n c targets?

Sorry to nitpick, Hokkmike, but that actually comes out to 30 cents per target.

Anywhere to get cheap shoot n c targets?

I don't think that the different-colored construction paper backer would work; the bullet would just drill a nice hole through both sheets. The way that the Shoot-N-C style targets work is that the backer paper is laminated with a thin poly film layer, covered by the (generally) black...

    Your First Gun

Mine was a Remington Nylon 66 .22 that I got for Christmas when I was 10. I haven't shot it in a few years, but I still have it.

Stolen gun a sick feeling and a message for those who keep guns in their car

Sorry to hear about your property loss. I imagine that you've probably already thought of this, but the parking lots of most of that chain's stores are monitored by security cameras. Any chance that the thief was recorded on video?

On Concrete! Why Do People Do This?

I've taken pictures of guns for sale on a concrete slab--it provides a clear background, and doesn't harm the guns at all when you rest the contact points on a couple of small pieces of foam. The guns themselves never actually touch the concrete.

Do Mags loaded for 3 months ruin the MAG?

No. A spring kept under tension will not lose its strength over time.

What about the new Ruger LCP?

I have had no problems with mine. It has performed flawlessly through about 350 rounds (about 200 prior to sending it back for the recall, and the remainder since its return.)

    AHSA Makes Their Stance Known

AHSA is a leftist anti-gun organization designed to lure stupid and uninformed gun owners into thinking that AHSA is on their side. Ray Schoenke, the "founding president" (according to Wikipedia) is a regular diarist at dailyKos.com. Read the Wikipedia information about Ray Schoenke and...

    Scope eye.

Before I learned the value of a good scope with long eye relief (and before I could afford one, as well) I had a mid-priced Simmons on a lightweight 30-06 that bit me a couple of times when I was antelope hunting in Wyoming. Nice pics from that hunt--you can see more blood on me than on the...

    A-Bolt Medallion

A-bolts came in several trim levels. The top of the line model was the White Gold Medallion, and the Medallion was just below that (glossy wood finish and shiny bluing.) I have a Medallion in .243 and it is a great rifle, but like PremiumSauces said, I'm almost fearful to hunt with it in case...

    220 Swift

I'm not sure about other manufacturers, but Remington makes a Model 700 VS SF II Varmint rifle in .220 Swift. http://www.remington.com/products/firearms/centerfire_rifles/model_700/model_700_VS_SF_II.asp

First 'Presto Gun Blue' pen: used Mini 14.

Jason is partly correct; the "cold bluing" coating provides no corrosion resistance by itself. Traditional "bluing," or hot black oxide, also provides very little corrosion resistance by itself. Both of these coatings have a crystalline structure--hot black oxide is composed of magnetite, or...
