Private US citizens going into Somalia to fight Islamists - true or not?

US Special Forces have been training the Ethiopian military for a mission like this for years. I'm surprised the media isn't playing up this angle about the US in another war overseas. The US is providing satellite intelligence and probably logistical support, fuel etc... I'm sure most...

What about the PKM? That is one of the best machineguns ever built. Ask Blackwater.

    milsurps numbers matching?

Back in ye olde days, government gun manufacturers put serial numbers on everything: the bolt, the stock, the barrel you name it. Basically "numbers matching" means the gun has the same parts it had when it left the factory. A lot of times governments would recycle old guns by using the good...

    Aluminum armor?

From personal experience, Aluminum armor is crap. At high enough temperature it becomes a fuel.

    will glock ever

I agree with you 100% on that. However, I don't agree that there is a huge demand for manual safeties on Glocks. Glock isn't unique in that respect, SIG Sauer for example.

    will glock ever

Glock made pistols with external safeties for the Tasmanian police. The police commissioner thought the 5.5 lbs trigger pull was too light to rely on a trigger safety. Those are the only pistols Glock has produced with manual safeties. Glock has sold well over 2 million pistols. So I...

Legality of Class I-II Body Armor?

The only armor that is restricted to civilian purchase are the SAPI (Small arms protective insert) plate class 3(7.62mm) and class 4(7.62mm AP). You can only buy them as an employee of the US government (Blackwater, US military etc...) However, you can buy them used without restriction. You...

Somebody please tell me we're not totally screwed in MD

Hedge your bets. Buy a stripped ar-15 lower. Only a federal ban would prevent it from being grandfathered in. They can be had for just under $100. Consider it an investment.

So what of the .50BMG now?

Bush had publicly stated that he would sign an AWB back when it was about to sunset. I don't know if he was just posturing because he knew a republican house wouldn't pass it or what. I wouldn't put it past him though. Bush is a conservative in wolfs clothing. Feinstein and Pelosi will push...

    GLOCK vs. Sig Sauer

If you compare the Glock to the SIGPRO there is no real difference in quality or bang for the buck as both are priced very similar. The alloy frame SIGs cost quite bit more and give you options that the Glock doesn't have like DA/SA. It comes down to whether you want a hammer or not...
