.308 or .310 for an SKS

I have an AR-15 with a Ballistic Advantage barrel on it. It hates 308 bullets. And that's with 168 and 155gr SMKs along with some bulk 150gr FMJs. Of all the bullets I've tried, the Hornady V-Max has been the most accurate out of it. That's with AA 1680 powder and IMI brass. Heck, the bulk...

    Lee turret ram adjustment

You see that groove in the ram that the primer seater sits in? Stick a screwdriver in that groove and you can turn the ram. Mine gets out of adjustment from time to time.

    Reduced Recoil Load-H4895

Here is some reading for you: http://www.223reloads.com/home/223-5-56-info/223-5-56-reloading/subsonic-223-loads Not sure I'd want to hunt deer with any of these rounds though.

    Lee Classic Turret over rotates

You may have to adjust the rod that turns the turret just a little. Use a wrench to turn it back as you hold the turret. Make sure the ram is up when you do this as you don't want to damage that plastic square. That nut on the top of the rod is adjustable. Mine does the same thing at times.

7.62x39 load recipe with IMR 4198

This is what Sierra gives for their .311 125gr SPT bullet for IMR 4198: Minimum is 23.1grs of powder. Maximum is 26.1grs. That seems like a lot when you look at the data for their .308 125grn bullet. 23.5grn minimum and 25.5gran maximum. And they are using Winchester brass. Speer, on the...

7.62x39 load recipe with IMR 4198

Are you looking at Hornady data? They seem to be a little on the light side. Sierra lists a little over 25grs for IMR 4198. Heck, I use 1680 in my gun and it's over max with the Hornady data, but under max for the Sierra data. If you look at Speer data, it's almost scary how much their max...

    Best Bullet for the 7.62x39

I guess I should have asked, what's the nominal bore size. Like .300 on a 308. I'm starting to find the nominal bore for the 7.62x39 should be .300, but not for sure. If that's true, no wonder I'm having so much trouble.

One more question and then it's over until the bullets get here. What should the correct bore size be? .302?

    Best Bullet for the 7.62x39

I've got those .311 Sierra bullets ordered. But lets say this barrel is crap. What would be a good manufacturer to get another barrel from?

    Best Bullet for the 7.62x39

Best I can tell from slugging is, .304 bore with a .310 groove diameter. Starting to doubt the barrel. I'll try some other bullets. But if worse comes to worse, wouldn't be the first Model One barrel I replaced.

    Best Bullet for the 7.62x39

Model One says 1x10. Beginning to wonder if it might be a little oversized. Like .3105. I may slug it to see what I get.

    Best Bullet for the 7.62x39

That's about what Wolf does in mine. Mainly about 4". But they are a group. Those SMKs printed about the same "pattern" as the .308 FMJs. All over the 11X8" sheet of paper I use for targets. The V-max has shot some raged one hole 5 shot groups, but I shoot 10 shot groups. For example...

    Best Bullet for the 7.62x39

Just to touch base, those SMKs shot every bit as bad as my FMJs. 12" group at 100 yards. Worse than Wolf. So it it now clear my gun does not like the .308 bullets.

Clean burning Medium/Heavy velocity powder for .357 Magnum?

Since you can't blast plated bullets at full power loads, why not use the 231 you have? That powder has pretty much all the bases covered in 357.
