While I do consider myself to be a hunter, I have only taken game and non-game species with a bow and a rifle as of now. With any luck that will change, as I just got a new .44 mag Raging Bull, and am planning to try and take a hog with it this weekend.

Ok...i guess nobody has any experience with this particular stock. So, today i just figured, to hell with it, and i put the coin down for a new B&C A5. If the stock is as good as the reviews, it should be pretty good. I guess I shall see.

Ive got a new Remington VTR in .308 on the way. Almost all of the reviews Ive read have one thing in common,...good rifle, poor stock. That being the case, Im already looking at options. The B&C A5, or A2, or A3. Im also looking at the laminate thumbhole stocks that i found at stockysstocks.com...

Well, I tried it and, Man, did I shoot poorly. I'm not even gonna waste your time with posting my target. Weather permitting, I will go this Sunday and try again.

Never used a gunslick, but Ive had my Otis system for the AR for years now, and it still works like new, with no visible signs of wear on the cables or their coatings.

I guess I'll throw my vote in for savage as well. I just got a model 12 BTCSS, and am impressed with the performance. This is a group from 100 with, Black Hills 68gr. BTHP Ill be heading back to the range tomorrow, to do a little more tweaking on the zero, and try my hand at the center fire...

This is a pretty neat idea yall got here. I printed a couple targets and may try to get em to the range this weekend. We'll see how it goes.

Steven, thanks for the informative post. I was under the impression that the Hoppe's would get the copper out since it says it "removes lead and fouling metals". I'll stop on the way home tonight and see what i can find in the way of a copper solvent and a nylon brush. Thanks.

Steven, the link you posted, is exactly what it is...Magna-porting. That tells ya how much I know about ports and breaks...lol...nothing at all. Let me just throw this out there... Last night when I cleaned it, my procedure was: I soaked a patch in Hoppes #9 and wet the inside of the barrel...

Ok got it out and pulled apart. Everything looks pretty good. No rust or corrosion that i can spot. However, i did a much more thourough cleaning and inspection of the bore, and find that there is a little bit of pitting on the muzzle side of the break. I find it strange that there is any...

I dont know him that well. He works for me, and just hired on recently, and was in need of some cash being that he didnt have a job for a while.
