I Do Not Rotate My Carry Guns

    I like it. I may try this. 1911 for a month...CZ for a month...Glock for a month...something else the next month...

I Do Not Rotate My Carry Guns

It seems to me that the folks who should be most wary about training with lots of different guns are those who mainly carry SAO semi-autos with manual thumb safeties (i.e. 1911, Hipower, etc.) There are two features of these handguns that may cause problems for those who cross-train with other...

    Non-tactical belt without belt holes

Thanks for all of the input. There were a lot of good suggestions in the above posts. Based on some of the questions that were posted, I guess that I should have defined my needs a bit better. I spend most of my time in jeans and I have a couple of good quality leather gun belts with normal...

    Non-tactical belt without belt holes

I'm looking for a better gun belt that doesn't use buckle holes and is infinitely adjustable. I want something that looks like a normal belt. Does such a thing exist?

I hate ambi safeties on 1911s

Wil Terry: What's different about the Swenson safeties? I'm a bit of a newbie to all things 1911. Is the design different somehow? Or is it just made better? CNobbe: I've never shot a 938, but a friend mentioned that he had the same problem with the opposite side pinching his trigger finger. If...

I hate ambi safeties on 1911s

Good morning, folks! I didn't mean to start an ambi vs. non-ambi safety debate. (I think that there is currently one going on somewhere on this site.) The post last night really was to disparage my own lack of mechanical skills. Perhaps there's a "trick" that I haven't yet figured out, but the...

    CZ 85B 9mm...any opinions?

I've owned a number of CZ over the years; currently have two in my stable. Never had an 85B, but know them to be great guns. You won't be disappointed!

I hate ambi safeties on 1911s

And it has nothing to do with their usefulness or whether they may get clicked on during concealed carry. I hate them because they are a royal pain to disassemble. Yikes! It took a lot of time and a fair amount of effort to remove the ambi safety on my Taurus 1911 this evening. (I was...

    Why no love? S&W 1911

I think that these two "features" are a major sticking point for the 1911 traditionalists. I have a Gunsite 1911PD and it's my favorite carry gun.

    Walther pps

I've owned a PPS for a few years now. I figured out which backstrap fit my hand best, installed it on the gun and left it there. Walther markets the removable backstrap as a safety feature, but it never seemed that useful to me.

    S&w 3913

In regards to holsters: As I recall, the 3913 will fit pretty well into a leather (not kydex) holster made for a Sig 239. The slide and trigger guard are similar on those two guns. (I had a 3913 a long time ago and used a Sig 239 holster for it.)

The most accurate small pistol you have fired?

Depends on what you mean by "small pistol." But the Walther PPS is one of the most underrated of the new subcompact 9s. It's super thin, so it carries invisible under a t-shirt. Also, it's pocketable (barely) with the 6-rd magazine. But the grip is fairly long from frontstrap to backstrap, so...

    Recent pick ups CZ fans!

I recently picked up a standard steel 75 Compact, and then later in the week came across a used Tristar C100 (basically, an alloy 75 Compact.) They both shoot great, but the Tristar is about 6 oz. lighter.

    CZ Purchase

My matte-stainless 75B is my favorite gun. The trigger smoothed out with use and a lot of dry-firing. Put some thin VZ grips on it and it shoots like a dream. And I have smallish hands, too.
