CCW and gun save Pokeman Go players

I brought my carry gun to go Pokemon hunting in a park tonight. There may not be a huge overlap between CCW holders and Pokemon players, but they're not mutually exclusive... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What has the Nice attack told us now!

What has the Niece attack told us now! Could that kind of attack be stopped by a good guy with a gun? It seems like even if someone were able to be certain enough of his intentions as he sped toward the crowd, and have time to react, the truck could have kept on rolling. There are some attacks...

    Appropriate range clothing

That's good advice. As soon as I read that story, I went and thanked my husband for warning me about hot brass before taking me to the range the first time. Knowing to expect it helped me handle it safely. We'll be taking family members there soon who are new to shooting, and they'll get the...

    Appropriate range clothing

Yup. My first trip to the range, I wore a V-neck t-shirt and got hot brass in my bra *twice.* I quickly set the gun down, muzzle pointing downrange, before dealing with the casing. I was already fanatical about safety even at that point. (I had a little superficial burn that took a couple weeks...

    First Post. Flinching/Blinking/Anticipation

YMMV, but I found e-muffs on their own to be startlingly inadequate for an indoor range (if that's where you shoot). But once I put earplugs under them, I couldn't hear people's voices. I wound up ordering a pair of 34 NRR Walkers muffs (non-electronic) for $15 on Amazon and those are working...

Similar to Kahr but higher capacity?

What I learned on today's range trip: I sure like shooting .380... I should work my way back up to 9mm, but probably not yet. Tried the SD9VE again and the recoil bothered my hand plus the trigger was somehow hurting my finger. Didn't care for the HK they had for rental at the range (hard...

Wish the local ranges had Taurus in their rental selection. I've seen a couple of those that look interesting. Maybe they'll have the Hi-Power, although I thought I read that the standard grip might not be comfortable? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Similar to Kahr but higher capacity?

That is fascinating. I just did a quick search and read a long review. (I had to laugh at the reviewer's comment that the grip on most Sigs feels to him like a finely polished 2x4, except for the P250. I held a different Sig in a store on Wednesday and 2x4 was an apt description of that one.)...

Interesting. So far my experience has only been with striker-fired pistols. So many details to learn—i have some more reading to do. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Cool--thanks for the detailed info! Hope to get out to the range this weekend and rent the P30. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I replied in post 34 on this thread... unless there was a different question I missed. Let me know. The 10-round thing is pretty arbitrary, I admit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It looks like the ranges around here have the HK P30 for rental but not the VP-9; how do they compare in terms of recoil? (Or any other factors you feel are important?)

Excellent! Thank you, I will look into these. The more customizable the grip, the better. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So an update. I went shooting today. My first solo range trip (felt weird) and I rented three guns: Kahr CW9. I was so hoping I'd like it as much as the K9, but it had a lot more kick. Out of the three guns I shot today, though, I shot this one the best. Walther CCP, on the recommendation...
