    FC....04 headstamp

okay thanks... I thought the brass was rather robust looking/feeling. :uhoh:

    FC....04 headstamp

I ran into a bunch of these .223 cases recently - all presumably once fired - every one of them measured out +1.775" - which seems really long to me. I'm wondering why the manufacturer left them so long to begin with. That can't be all stretch! Does anyone know anything about the...

    .223 Powder Choice?

I don't know why anyone would not want to give the go ahead on H335 - also the temps here (West Coast) never get cold enough to consider low temperature performance, except in the mountains.

    .223 Powder Choice?

I think H335 and TAC is nearly the same, you won't go wrong there. Also, I'm hearing good things about AA2230 in that caliber.

    Anyone using 2230?

ForneyRider: Thanks for the info that helps a lot. I thought W748 was dirty, now I know. And I know what you mean about Varget in small cases. It's nice to fill the brass up, but it's hard getting enough in there with Varget. I think the most I could cram in was about 25.8 gr. And it...

    Anyone using 2230?

ForneyRider: Sounds good... My .223 bolt gun just loves 52 gr Hornadys and Sieras - both HP's and ballistic points. It always shoots nice groups with that weight bullet and a mid to max charge. I'm gonna like AA2230, I think. :) How much are you putting behind those 52 gr bullets? In the past...

    Anyone using 2230?

Pauly's a real hot head, I told 'em it's just business. He ain't what ya call the brightest bulb on the string, if ya know what I mean. He wouldn't know where the sidewalk was if he fell on it. Didn't ya hear about the "Bing?" After Silvio Dante got whacked, it's under new management - the...

Where are there primers for sale?

Gator 23, Like with my guns when I got into golfing I bought more stuff than I really needed especially in the beginning. I still have about a 2 year supply (or more) of assorted golf balls - but excessive buying doesn't create any ball shortages, nor does a new guy in the White House cause a...

    Problem seating primers

I have had the wrong part shipped in the original packaging (Lee primer insert tool for a one-banger die press). I sent an e-mail explaining the problem, three or four days later the new and right part was in my mailbox. Their reply in e-mail told me to wait for the new part, and not to...

Marking brass with a tiny punch

rhinoh: Yes. :banghead: It's not a good idea.

    Anyone using 2230?

downloaded from Accurate, edition 3.2.2. I did mean approx range, not exact powder measurements. :banghead: Now... waddya know... Pauly Walnuts thinks he oughta come pay you a little visit. I said, "waddya gonna do! ...Forgedaboutit...!" :neener:

Will Sharpie marks on a case head stand up to a tumbler?

An alternate method: You might try to string the brass on loops of stainless steel wire, twisting the loops closed before tumbling. Put some kind of designation metal tags on the same same loops, and then they'll be segregated from the rest of the batch as long as the tags hold up.

Will Sharpie marks on a case head stand up to a tumbler?

The media, solvents, and mild abrasives, will do pretty fast work on those marks. I use a combination of walnut shell, with some Bon-Ami, and a little alcohol (solvent). It'll take the blue coloring off the any brass that I've left too long on the wood stove (from heat) in the winter - and...

    Why I don't use Loctite on Mounts/Rings

DRYHUMOR: A bit of heat works really great to break down the Loctite bonds. Depending on the type used it either holds by expansion in the hole/confined space, or it adheres in an acrylic-like bond. Heat breaks down both... but be careful not to overheat past an extremely (very) hot point - you...

    The truth about "pressure signs"

From: Robert Wilson ...Seems to me, all my guns like the middle of the published scales when it comes to making small holes in larger pieces of paper. My eyes (at my age) are my defining limit, and for me making nice groups/circles of about 1.250" radius is about as good as it gets. I'm sure I...
