    Made some ammo last night

I have flat base with one layer of rolling paper. Should be thin enough, but maybe not as easily burned through as tissue paper? Edit: My ammo boxes are from the same man. He was selling them on ebay. Also paper cartridge tutorial on his youtube channel. https://youtu.be/-2HUcfAyaaQ

I used a end of a paint brush shaft which was close to a perfect match and that rolling paper because it was easier to attach. Allthough i think for avoiding any misfires it would be good to punch a hole in it before loading.

I have the H&C kit also and I use their pre-cut flash paper, but I have my self made dowel. I leave the bottom (thinner end) open and seal it with cigarette rolling paper. That way it holds 30 graina easily and it still fits nicely in the chamber.

Whoa! Those are some great looking cartridges! Did you use cigarette rolling paper or what? I have some highly flammable glue that should be best for the job, but its so strong that it makes me dizzy, so i've found that normal paper clue stick works just fine. Cooldill: do you have problems...

    Made some ammo last night

And remembered again how much fun it is. Can't wait to go out and test 'em. One box .457 140gr rb with 30gr of Swiss FFFg and the other box is 215gr .452 conical with 25gr of the same powder. I used flash paper specially made for the purpose and sealed the bottom and attached the bullet to the...

    45-70 quick trim die problem

Well I didn't size it properly and thats why it didn't fit. So I shouldn't trim the case unless if it is too long? Can I do any harm to the case if i trim it? Does chamfering(?) the case make the bullet seating easier?

    trigger pull 1858 Pietta

Finally got the new part installed and it works great as a drop in part. Now the action works as it should. Another problem I just noticed that the hammer is a bit on the left side when installed and it has hit the frame everytime I shoot it. It's made a small dent on the left side, but the...

    Cleaning a brand new uberti

Yeah, I don't get it. Maybe the parts is too cold after cleaning and thats why i dont get all the moisture out of them.

    Cleaning a brand new uberti

What would be the best way to get rid of the already formed rust on the bottom of the cylinder holes? Some sort of rust removal agent or just plain old scrubuti scrub? :D

    Cleaning a brand new uberti

I really have problems with rusting, I don't know why. I spend lot of time cleaning the gun but still there are spots that collect rust. Especially bottom of the cylinder holes (where you load powder etc.). I've given up water cleaning, because I'm afraid it just promotes rusting. Any ideas...
