Agreed. The iron sights on an M1A are far superior to that of the BAR's. If a scope was not in the equation and 250 yard shots were needed give me the M1A all day. But at 250 yards I personally would be better off with a scope and since I'm not a fan of hunting with heavy scoped M1A's I think...

For me the main advantages are the better quality small parts (easily changed out in the Springer), the fact its made here in the US and that its one of a few "affordable" 1911's that comes blued nowadays. Those things considered I think the Colt is a better value over the Springer FOR ME. Now...

Colts are US made and have better small parts which costs money. Also the pony is very expensive to engrave :)

1911 is a great platform and the SA's are good guns. I'd go with a Colt myself but thats opening a whole new can of worms there....
