Agreed. I've shot several boxes through 2 SOCOM 16s and was highly disappointed with the accuracy in both cases. Thank God I didn't own them!

Sounds like the solution is to keep the finger off the trigger until ready to shoot. That said, I've onwned several Tapco products and the G2 trigger is the only thing they make that I enjoy. I actually love how lightly it breaks, and generally get about 1.5 - 2 MOA with iron sights @ 100 yards.

Longer sight radius = smaller MOA sight. As stated above, there is a point at which a smaller MOA sight doesn't get you much due to other factors. Regarding handguns, if you think about the range at which you'd want to engage a target with a pistol, a sight radius greater than 5" or so...

Agreed. The tricky question is what features do we optimize -- accuracy, weight, reliability, cost, caliber, range, recoil management, commonality of parts/ammo, etc.? We can get several of those, but not all, and the ones we pick will always be second-guessed.

I tried the Texas Weapon Systems rail with the rear peep sight they sell. I would STRONGLY recommend staying away from this setup if you're looking for an irons upgrade. It's a very nice setup if you want to add optics, but the rear peep sight sits way too high. As a result, your sights are...
