If your life was on the line, I would choose an 870 or 590. If you just want to make friends and influence people, both the KSG and UTS will work.

I'm with DB on this. There is nothing faster into action then a well balanced hunting shotgun. There is a lot to be said for familiarity with a platform in stressful situations.

The gold is a reliable shotgun and a soft shooter. It would make a dandy skeet gun.

If money is tight I would take that setup and hunt everything on your list. Then I would start saving for a more versitle shotgun. You can't beat a 12ga 3˝ semi auto with a 28˝ barrel weighing in around 7 lbs. IMHO

It is VERY unlikely that you would even see a hog. Only exceptions you are running dogs or hunting over bait at night.

Those are both good choices. My two most frequent used carry guns are a G27 and a S&W J frame. The LCR is smaller and you would probably carry it more. The G27 would be a better weapon if you ever had to use it. An LCR in your pocket is better than a G 27 in the gun safe. It is a compromise...

Wouldn't carry a 25 acp. A 38 derringer isn't high on my list either. The new 380s are as small as I would go, but I would still rather carry a j frame.
