The Robertson Trading Posts grip adapters are well made. They're not quite as good and well fitting as a Tyler T-Grip, but they do work well and are much easier to get.
I had one on a 66-2 that I used to own. I did contour the inside a little to fit closer to the frame and grips
They're harder to find and more expensive these days, but I love round butt finger groove Ahrends combats for my Smith snubbies. They fit the hand and point well for me.
I do have a set of VZ grips on the way for my 2 3/4" M69. It has a tendency to smack my thumb pretty hard with heavier loads...
I have 6 Kimber 1911s, and wouldnt hesitate to buy another one.
-Blued Gold Match from 97-98
-Stainless Gold Match from 2000
-Royal from 2000
-Ultra Carry II ~2012
-Pro Raptor II (not sure of year)
-Custom LW from 2024
I haven't had a minutes trouble with any of them. IIRC the Ultra had a...
My shooting buddy picked one up a few months ago. It was easy to consistently ring the 10"x14" steel at 100 yards with the iron sights, and much softer shooting than I had anticipated.
He's mounted a green dot holosun on it now, I'm curious to try it with that
That's interesting.
I currently have 6 1911's that are all 100% stock. I've owned 4 glocks (Still own 3)
The 1911 triggers have all been lighter and crisper than the Glocks out of the box.
The heaviest 1911 trigger was 4.75 lbs with a clean break. The lightest Glock trigger was ~6 lbs with a...
I'm not a fan of stock Glock triggers either. I don't like shape of the face of the trigger and the "mushy" feel just before they break. I can shoot ok with them, and they're perfectly functional, I just don't care for them.
I have a G19 and a G21, both gen3, and they both felt about the same...
The 17-9 msrp is over $1k
I bought a nice 17-4 with box/papers a few months ago for $750 (on GB after shipping and fees etc)
It had target grips too, but I swapped them for a set of Ahrends
"This form is used to obtain permission to temporarily or permanently move your registered National Firearms Act (NFA) machine gun, short barreled rifle or shotgun, or destructive device interstate. Persons other than qualified federal firearms licensees (FFLs) or government agencies are...
Yeah that first part is not true. There are no forms to submit when travelling with a suppressor, as long as it's one of the 42 free states where they're legal. Just keep your tax stamp and paperwork with it and you're good to go.
I picked up a couple of suppressors last year, and I wish I'd done it years ago. I got one rimfire and one 30 cal centerfire.
It's great being able to shoot my 22 pistols and rifles in the backyard without bothering the neighbors.
And when I shoot my bolt rifles or ARs, I can shoot for hours...
Simplest thing would be to make some spacers to put between the stock and buttplate, especially if it's just temporary. Stack washers, wood etc. Someone with a 3D printer could make them easily.
That said, I'm 5' 10.2" per the Dr, and my son is 5' 11".
Neither of us has issue with the M1...
Just posted this in another thread, but I'll let this picture answer the question.
45 acp is my favorite caliber, and you can load a wide range of projectiles with a wide range of power, especially when using a revolver.
I'm not anti 10mm though, it would be a good choice as well.
If Smith...
I'd Smith 1917, but probably not Colt. Especially at that price.
With the modifications and the shape it's in I would probably go $500 max. But that's just me.
