Loading for competition
I load 45ACP on a Dillion 550 but first I resize and deprime on a single stage Hornady press then case check each round. By case checking I can throw out the bad cases before they are loaded. Then I prime with a Sinclare hand primer and reload on the 550. This may seem...
I have a Century Arms Golani and love it. I have never had a malfunction and it just feels good to shoot. Everyone I know that has a Century Arms Golani loves them. No one has had any problems with them. Century got a bad reputation with the FAL but seems to have solved all their problems now. I...
I had an HK93 in good condition with a couple stocks, and all the usual goodies. I got $4700 for it in a pellican case.
Sell your rifle and then buy the M1A you want.

Most 10/22's will like either high or standard velocity ammo. They will malfunction with one or the other, especially after they get a little dirty. First find out which the rifle likes (the one that functions best) and buy a good brand. I have two 10/22's that I loan out at Appleseeds to...
I signed up for a life membership in the NRA in 1963. It cost me $100.00 which was a lot of money for a young sailor back then. I was stationed on Midway Island so there wasn't a lot to spend money on anyway.
I think it was a pretty good deal when you look at how long I've been a member...
I would recommend that anyone who wants to get into high power competition attend an Appleseed Clinic.
They will teach you the prone, sitting and standing positions. They will teach you how to transition from standing to sitting and standing to prone. They will teach you how to use a sling...
I live in an eastern state, Virginia, and open carry is legal here. I have many friends who open carry every day and I have never seen a reaction to it while I was with any or them. I conceal carry most of the time but on occasion I open carry as well. I've never heard of anyone having a problem...
I shot garands in High Power competition for years. We always took the rifle butt from the shoulder, placed it on the ground and loaded the clip with the trigger hand. That way you have something to push against, the ground... and the rifle loads easily. Then pick up the butt of the rifle with...
I would not recommend grinding up a course grained black powder to make it finer. The powder has a glaze on the surface to help protect it from humidity in the air. When you grind it up you remove the glaze and may cause ignition problems in damp areas.

Mark,
Alcohol will absorb and hold water. If you wipe out a bore with alcohol it will absorb the water and then evaporate leaving the water to do it's damage. I would not recommend wiping a bore with alcohol.
Your experience with Balistol does seem unusual. I've used it both as a black...
I was shooting the Navy EIC matches back in the mid 1990's and picked up my 30 points just about the time that DCM changed over to CMP.
I was waiting for my Distinguished Badge but got a letter from CMP stating that the Navy had not sent the registration fees for the EIC matches to DCM so my...
I'm not sure how many guns I own but I have two safes that are full so the last few I bought I had to hide around the house.
I feel sorry for you young guys today. I'm over 65 and when I was young I could buy anything I wanted. I bought my first handguns second hand at about 11 years old. I...
I have a M40A1 in 308 and an urban police rifle in 223 built by retired USMC armorers at Iron Brigade Armory and they are very well built and accurate rifles. IBA is not the cheapest source for this type of rifle but they may be the best. The waiting list is long because they are building rifles...
