    There is no waiting period. If there was, it would apply to everyone who buys a gun in Massachusetts. I am guessing that he was blocked by the NICS check, or by the Massachusetts online system that one completes after passing NICS. I don't think you are getting the whole story.

    An FID is not good enough for handguns. This guy needs at least an LTC-B. There is no requirement to "register" guns that were owned when the guy moved into the state. Only purchases made while a resident of MA (both in and out of state purchases) must be logged. The guy will not be required...

    The lower had to have been assembled into a rifle before the ban date. As far as I'm concerned, how does anyone know that the original owner didn't have a LPK and a upper on it on the ban date? Good luck to any DA who wants to convict you with the question of whether or not it was assembled...

    Anyone use USMC Shooting Jacket?

    I have one. I tried it with a Garand, but the metal Garand buttplate would slip way too much when I fired it. I have since bought a simple canvas Creedmore jacket and it works much better. But for 30 dollars, I don't think you can go wrong.
