Using lead bullet data for loading Rainer Plated HP in .38 special

I was always under the impression you use lead data with plated bullets. That's all I have ever used with plated without any problems.

    223 case length

I would stick as close as possible to the SAAMI acceptable limits. If you are under the range you could run into some issues. Most notably if you are not engaging the throat of the barrel consistently, you are looking at some accuracy issues. Not to mention if the bullet becomes damaged as it...

Help with my first reloading setup

+1 on the Lee Classic Turret. I started out with this and there is definately some good benefits. Using as both a single stage and turret is a huge plus in a starter press. Also you can pick up multiple turrets and set up multiple calibers as time permits. Then simply plug in a new turrent to...

    Oxidation on cast bullets

Sounds like a metallurgy issue. Lead can oxidize but typically it would affect more than just one or two bullets. Sounds like there could be a different metal in there that is causing the oxidizing effect.

I use TAC from Ramshot in my bushmaster. I bought 8 pounds of it here locally a while back. Cycles great and load data is on Ramshot's website.

OK - got one for you - received guns via mail in error

My suggestion would be to contact the auction house. My concern would be when the purchaser doesn't receive his guns he might contact the auction house and report them missing or stolen. This could cause a report to be filed with the police/atf . If you ever sell those guns or have your books...

    Painting Cast Boolits?

Power coating with harbor freight gun and black powder. Great luck here with almost no leading. Haven't tried tumble coating here yet but it's on the list. I have heard great results with epoxy spray paint as well. Cheap and you don't need any separate gun setup. Just buy the can.

    Brass? Petina or?

Looks like oxidation from something on the outside of the case. Could be the way the rounds were stored before you got them.
