Will $350 get me a decent Model 19 or 66?

You might consider broadening your search to include the 3 inch model 13 or 65. These are the fixed sight versions of the .357 K frame in blue (13) and stainless (65). But these are very sought after guns too.

thinking about a .357 lever gun...

I have an 1894c Marlin, it wears a Weaver V3 scope. It's an amazingly versatile little rifle. I wouldn't hesitate to shoot a deer or wild hog with it, and it's accurate enough for small game out to about 100 yards. Perfect companion for a 357 wheelgun.

    Wal-Mart ammo deal!

The Wal MArts around here (Ft Worth area) had a big ammo clearance about 3 weeks ago. I loaded up on WWB 223 40 rd value packs for $7, CCI Blazer Brass 9mm for $4 box, and various other calibers, but these were the best deals.

Marlin 357 mag 18 inch: Best home defense round?

My 1894c has a 16.5 inch barrel. It also likes the American Eagle 158gr JSP load. I have handloaded for it in the past with bullets up to 180 grains. But mine seems to like the 158s the best.

Compare this soldier's story to Kerry's

For anyone who is impressed with John Kerry's military exploits, take a minute and read about Army SPC Joe Herndon. I coached joe in little league baseball and junior football for a few years. He was one of those kids that you'll always remember. Very strong, tough, dedicated and determined...

I'm keeping one in my safe for a friend who's overseas. It is a superb revolver, far better than the later Virgian Dragoons.

    A letter from Iraq

Outstanding GT! My oldest has been in the USAF for about a year now. It says a lot about your character that you would enlist in a time of war. I believe your generation are going to be examples for those that follow. Much as the WWII generation defeated Germany and Japan, I believe your...

    Which .22 pistol?

Howdy Trumpet, Why not go to www.rimfirecentral.com and read up on these choices? The Rugers are bulletproof, and the buckmarks are good too, and replicate the controls of a 1911. Not sure why you would look any farther than these two choices.
