    Thanks guys, the wool worked great, it wasn't pitted.. just a little surface rust. What kind of open carry holster to think is best? I noticed that the plastic one Springfield gave me left me a weird mark.

    I have a Springfield (full size) 1911, and it got wet from a surprise rainstorm at the range, now I'm stuck with roughly a dozen unsightly rust spots on the slide. How do I get rid of them?
