"Gunsmithing" gone wrong on gunbroker (Warning, eye burning, and hair pulling may occur when viewed)

There are always a ton of poorly fixed or customized guns available on GunBroker. Buy them and fix them or ignore them, it's not worth losing sleep over. Jeff

    Sight pusher... or not?

Hammer, punch, vise. Unless you're working on sights with glass inserts, such as tritium, no need for fancy and expensive tools. Especially for single use. And, there is a reason cheap sight pushers are cheap. Jeff

    Shipping charges.......

It's not any single charge you should look at, it's the total cost of getting the order to your door. Bass Pro and Gander Mountain, the two closest to me, are a little higher in powder and primers but you can have the order shipped to the stores and not pay shipping or hazmat. Otherwise, buy...

    Beginner gunsmithing....aka learning from youtube

Brownell's. Get the catalog, it's porn for gunsmiths. :) Starret punches are the standard. But any of the punch sets, gunsmith screwdriver sets and a decent 2 oz hammer will get you started. Take a look at Brownell's gunsmith tool list for ideas. Jeff Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

    Titegroup Reloading NG Poisoning?

First, it's not any kind of poisoning. Second, schedule a checkup with a full blood panel with your doctor. You do have a medical issue. It could be life threatening. Your doctor is the ONLY one you should be looking for answers from, not the internet. Jeff Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

    Reloading-Loctite on Primer Pockets?

I would start to suspect that his other knowledge might not be that good to rely on either... LocTite won't help with primers. Jeff Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

    Gunsmith Education

The apprentice system is not as prevalent today and it's a young person's path. If you have a family friend in the business it's doable, but not as possible as it used to be. Resident school means moving and living in a new area, full time school for two years and a guaranteed job prospect...

    Gunsmith Education

First question: Can you afford $30,000+ and the two years it will take, plus wait time for acceptance, plus qualify for, a traditional resident gunsmith school? If so, there are about six to choose from, all with wait times and admission procedures to go through. If not, you have a choice of...

I lost a small plastic pad of cylinder's screw hole.

Yeah, but they keep gunsmiths in business. :) Jeff Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

Time for a gun cradle, for easier cleaning.

Tipton Best here as well. I actually have both Tipton, for ARs you want the AR add on. Jeff Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

    Cerakoting the frame?

Wear is fine, as long as the applicator does a good job. Better than blued guns. Jeff Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

    buffer problem

Buffers have no effect except for full auto. That said, the detent pin shouldn't break, even on full auto. It doesn't normally have any real force on it. Something is off. Jeff Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

    380acp case bulge?

Glock cases. Do they have the square primer strike with a slight drag? Jeff Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
