    .22 still hard to find?

A new Dick' s (sporting goods chain) opened up very close to us here in Georgia a couple months back. Stopped by, my eyes zoomed to the Buckets o' Bullets. Big sale. Went back the next day for another Bucket. Not bad: 2,800 rounds at just under .04¢/round. Won't see that again for awhile.

    Stoeger Cougar Compact

Great 9mm weapon! Trying to find wood grips for the Compact model. Many of the bigger names don't produce them. Any leads on wood grips for the Beretta Cougar Mini- and would those fit my 13+1 size compact?

Phantom 9/11: LE draws down on my family

Thanks for the feedback. Answering a couple of questions: -The officer looked through our uncovered living room window to the foyer on the same level. She saw the holstered weapon from her side angle; I was backlighted. Yup, we should have had the blinds up; they're sitting in boxes under that...

Phantom 9/11: LE draws down on my family

Last night at 2AM my wife heard the doorbell ring; I woke up to loud pounds on the door. We head downstairs; I'm holding my holstered J-frame behind my back. I look through the sidelights; its a blue uniform with his hand on his weapon. At the same time, a female voice from outside - off to the...

    Obama, on gun control.

Starting now http://www.newsweek.com/2011/01/27/white-house-to-push-gun-control.html "White House to Push Gun Control Obama intentionally did not mention gun control in his State of the Union, but aides say that in the next two weeks the administration will unveil a campaign to get Congress...

Care and feeding of my new 637

My first revolver ever. I've wanted a S&W snub ever since I was a little kid, and the 637 fits the bill nicely. Great price with the rebate as well. I picked up some Hornady +P at Wally World, and looked for some range ammo to start getting used to this little beast. Just before buying some...

    Update - Justice is Slow

Let me be the first to observe that contact with James Bubba's wife may be hazardous to one's health and continued oxygen consumption.

TSA is amazingly polite at Dallas Love Field...

Rusty Shackleford, I agree with your conclusions in both your "novels" above; great stuff. Like Guns and More said, it's all theater. The only benefit of this enhanced security accrues to the government: It wants to control the citizenry. Whether it's headed by likely homosexual Skull n Bones...

Apparent Troll said: Why gosh yes I could do so. Instead I'll grant you the courtesy of refuting my statement, as I've previously given you the benefit of research you could easily have accomplished on your own.

TSA is amazingly polite at Dallas Love Field...

Policy failure on multiple fronts A prediction: body cavity searches will be proposed soon enough. It's a small leap from Shoe Bomber to Underwear Bomber; the Butthole Bomber can't be far behind. Just after the "pat-down" experience this past summer, I talked to food workers at a stand around...

TSA is amazingly polite at Dallas Love Field...

You're welcome Absolutely, if your concept of "patriotism" requires you to believe that our government is unfailingly honest in its dealings with the citizens it supposedly represents. These mobile backscatter X-ray machines have unlimited settings in the amount of radiation they emit. While...

TSA is amazingly polite at Dallas Love Field...

No Scan While working for a large defense integrator, I used these scanners in several proof of concepts for domestic and foreign customers. These were an earlier generation of the current backscatter machines. Since that time the technology has improved. TSA is lying about radiation, and...

    Licensed to Carry, Denied Purchase...?

Thanks Thanks for all the info. I'm told at my FFL dealer that I should not use the license to purchase, even though they may not call the NICS line, since I could "get in trouble" for trying to purchase after a denial. I'm told by the NICS that an appeal will take about 116 days. Any...

    Licensed to Carry, Denied Purchase...?

Hello- I've enjoyed reading this forum while staying in the background. Hope you'll all forgive my first post being a request for helpful information. Today I received a call telling me that my firearm purchase that was delayed yesterday was finally denied. Coincidentally, my Georgia...
