I haven't tried this personally, but I went hog hunting with a friend that was shooting these out of a .270. I was using Core-Locts out of a .30-06, and both seemed to do the job perfectly. Pretty much any larger caliber round put in the right place will drop an animal where they stand.

IMO, the .308 should do the job just fine. I live in a very rural community and I know very well what the sheriffs usually encounter. 99.999% of the time, it is not going to matter if it is an AR, a bolt action, or a shotgun. Thanks yall, I am not sure what did the trick, soaking it in break free over night or shooting it a few times, but the bore looks to be in near perfect condition.

I havent shot Silver Bear much, but Brown Bear 7.62X39 is all I shoot out of my SKS. It is non-corrosive, but if clean is what you are looking for, go with something else. Brown Bear has got to be the dirtiest shooting ammo that I have seen.

Right now I use 180 grn Nosler partitions for everything. They shoot great out of my A- Bolt, and it will take down pretty much anything I am going to run across in Texas. May be a bit over the top for deer, but it has worked fine for me.

I guess the right thing to do would be to respect his wishes. If I were in your shoes, I would buy the loudest, most ear shattering cannon out there and shoot it as much as I could:evil:. I really hate jerks like that.

So can anyone give me some info on this rifle? What kind of accuracy is it capable of? I did a search and apparently everyone thinks they are great rifles, but I did not find much other than that.
