Without actually seeing the rifle in question there is no way to tell if it is safe or not. But VERY rarely have I heard of a Mosin KB. They are robust rifles made for the long haul and designed to be used by untrained peasants.
Your best bet is to take it to a gunsmith if you are worried...
Our local Dunhams sell "exclusive" model 60's with medallions in the stock. I'm not sure what the medallion looks like though. My model 60 basic wood/blued version also has a gold trigger, I believe mine is an early '90s model.

I don't think that some holster wear will matter to anyone. Might actually look bad on your part to try cold blue since it won't match the Glock's factory finish.
I've never seen the canned heat, how many come in the can, what type of bullet are available, and how much are they normally priced? Could be worth it to trade in some of my extra brass since I'm still on the fence about reloading .45 ACP.
