    The S & W Model 13 appreciation Thread

I managed to find a nice 3 inch round butt. Here it is, with a 2.5 inch M66.

    Any suggestions for a 3" S&W

    I'm a sucker for K-frames. 2.5 inch Model 66 and 3 inch Model 13 (I found one).

Ruger Mark II/III Auto .22LRs...The Perfect Kit Gun?

Oh and both of mine are blued guns. While I have not had any issues with rust or corrosion, I own other guns in stainless, and would've preferred stainless. Got them both used for really good prices, so I can't really complain, though.

Ruger Mark II/III Auto .22LRs...The Perfect Kit Gun?

I have a Mark II 22/45 with 4 inch bull barrel, and I think it combines the best features of both the standard and bull barrel guns. It's quite light (comparable to the standard models), and has all the "accuracy" I need, plus the adjustable sights. Also love the fact that all the controls and...

Life term for killing teen who walked on lawn

Coincidently enough, this happened in Ohio.

Life term for killing teen who walked on lawn

I'm not sure if that is the case. The published parts of Charles Martin's diary shows to me a bitter, nitpicking, possibly insane old man who had problems with everyone around him. Interviews with former co-workers at Ford plant tends to show a bitter, paranoid bully who held grudges...

    Hollywood and Handguns

I think you're right in theorizing the familiarity with the average viewer being the reason for prevalence of the calibers mentioned. Unless there's a good reason to use an "exotic" cartridge, they'll going to go with the familiar. And whenever Hollywood tries to work in the "exotic"...

    Sig P232: a PPK copycat?

If you're talking about the extractor/ejector, then yes it really does something, i.e. hurls the empty case clear. They as configured also double as "loaded chamber" indicator. If I remember right, there's also a loaded chamber indicator on the PPK's slide that the SIG lacks.

    Sig P232: a PPK copycat?

If by "copycat" you mean an exact copy, then the answer is no. True, the double action feature was pioneered by Walther, but I don't consider that to be a "copycat." I had a Sig P230 (preceding model to 232) once upon a time, and I can enumerate a number of differences betwwen it an PPK from...

    Tombstone.

***SPOILER ALERT*** My Darling Clementine starring Henry Fonda (Wyatt Earp) and Victor Mature (Doc Holida) most assuredly did not depict the shootout according to Earp's own account, since Doc Holiday gets killed in it.

Popular Mechanics' new gun-stereotype cover image

I'm not sure what the indignation is for. I look at the cover photo (techni looking Glock atop a Social Security Card), along with the written headline "...Here's how to fight back," and come up with the image of the gun as a weapon against High Tech Identity Theft.

    Funny thing (good) heard in airplane;

MoeMentum Nice, they just blew the DEA guys cover , in 27c. Bet that made him happy.. How so? Reading the orignal post I had the impression that the airplane was empty of passengers and tha announcement was for the flight attendants. I'm guessing so that, if the flight attendant saw the...

M1 Carbine sightings in Southern California?

I give up. What does that mean in English? You might want to check out the Armoury of Orange in...you guessed it..the City of Orange. That's where I got mine years ago. On Tustin, north of the 22 Freeway. It's in the same mini-mall area as Fowlers. Better hurry, though...

Smith and Wesson does it again

This articles says that among the allegations is that the magazine disconnect safety did not work. If this is correct, then the pistol was defective and Smith & Wesson was right to settle, rather than take a hit by the jury. Remember, this was a products liability suit. Would love to know if...
