DVC, Ive heard of that happening to people over on rimfire central. If I remember right, it happens mostly when they do the spring flip, or bend the spring wrong to lighten the trigger.
I have a 1960 Regent 8 shot 22 double action revolver, it's not what I would call an excellent gun, but for its age and 36 bucks new back then, It's a great shooter.
It might be a little stronger at closer ranges( ive no proof of that ) But I think at farther ranges, the regular 22 would win out, for holding energy and speed.
