Feasibility of rechambering a Model 28

I've read of people having Model 28s rechambered to .44 special, I was just wondering how feasible it would be to have one rechambered to .41 magnum? Anyone have a ballpark figure of how much something like this would cost? I think Bowen lists a caliber conversion for an S&W as right around...

    Model 28

I guess at this point I'm looking at aesthetics over function. I know that sounds foolish, but hell, it's part of the reason I got the S&W over a GP100. I love those Ahrends Tacticals, but I really wish they were checkered. I guess I could have a third party checker them, but I haven't a clue...

    Model 28

I have actually thought of a set Magnas, or Magna lookalikes with a T-grip as another alternative, but I'm still curious to see if anyone has any experience with the target grips S&W is offering on their website.

    Model 28

I put a Model 28 on layaway a couple of days ago at Gander Mountain, and I was hoping that some of you S&W guys could answer a couple of questions for me. Was the 28 ever made in a round butt configuration? I ask because the gun is wearing a Hogue Monogrip, and I've been online shopping for a...

    First handgun

The price on new Hi Powers, even at CDNN, puts them waaaaay out of line with my other choices. I'd actually given up on the thought of a hi power as my first gun until I saw the Israeli surplus ones.

    First handgun

I have some christmas cash in hand, a purchase permit working its way through local government, and am having trouble deciding between three very different pistols. Whatever I buy is primarily going to be a range toy, and I hope all three will eventually find their way into my collection, but...

    A blog for the hunter-foodies

I ran across this guy's blog after he came through town on his book tour. Interesting reading, and a different take on wild game recipes than most of what I see on the internet. http://honest-food.net/

Shopping for a pistol that fits my hand

Try another SR9c somewhere else. My father bought one a couple of months ago, and I find its trigger to be much lighter and smoother than the glocks I've tried. I wonder if maybe there was something a little "off" with the one you tried.

    H&R barrel swap

Has anyone here had H&R fit a second barrel to their receiver? I have a twenty gauge NEF single shot that I received as a gift for my 12th birthday back in the early nineties, and I'd like to turn it into a slug gun. The price listed on their website looks very reasonable, especially compared...

    Which Canoe?

I have a Rough Rider canoe, and it's a good knife, but I'm looking for something more along the lines of a semi-heirloom. I mean, I want a quality useable knife, but this is also a token and keepsake to my closest friends on one of the most important days of my life. I don't think Bear and Son...

    Which Canoe?

I lurk on this forum a lot, and I've noticed that even with all the slipjoint fans here, I rarely seem to see posts about the canoe pattern. I've always loved this pattern, I don't know why...I just love something about the lines. Anyway, I'm getting married at the end of October, and I want...

Re-visiting an old friend...My Nylon 66! What would you recommend?

My first .22 was/is one of the CBC Nylon 66....I think they marketed it as "Black Beauty". Anyone else have one of these or an opinion on them?

    daisy .22

I remember the rifle pogy is talking about. It was the Daisy Legacy, and it came in several different versions. It was almost my first rifle when I was 12 or 13, but I decided on one of the CBC Nylon 66 copies instead.
