JD,
Without examining the actual engagement, I'll take a leap of faith and say that you may have taken too much metal off the slide stop. Either that or you did not radius the underside of the engagement point after you worked on it, or perhaps both. If you want to keep this slide stop, a...
JD,
I haven't seen this with Wilson mags, even on high use magazines. I use Wilson magazines exclusively in my carry guns, and quite a bit in the non-carry ones. Wilson pretty much sets the standard for aftermarket 1911 magazines.
You say the follower is getting chewed up after only 400...
I'm aware that the snubbie is capable of making 25 yard shots. There are some guys that make amazing shots with snub nosed revolvers at great distances. If I work at it long enough, I might be reliably accurate at 25 yards with it myself. That's not the thing though.
For me, a snubbie is a...

For people who want certain features...
I want to point out too, that if the gun is blue, the above all still applies.
If the gun is nickel, however, you risk losing a chunk or two of the nickel plating as the cylinder expands during firing. Not a big loss if its a tatty gun, but if it has a nice finish, you may want to not fire it.
fantastic work!
As a comparison, I had Jim Clark (of Clark Custom) dovetail on a shotgun tritium sight. He did a great job, but declined to do it again. He said there just wasn't enough profit in it considering he has a year long backlog of comp guns. FWIW, he left a paper thin width of...
