    AK-47 help please

I got an Egyptian Maadi with wood furnature a couple of years ago. Shoots great and has never had a misfire or jam. After buying some good soft nose ammo, I now use if for my home defense weapon. I think everyone should own one.

GAME TIME!!!! Name my first 9mm.. and I'll buy it.

Just go with the Springfield XD9 Compact, 4" bbl. Nothing else can touch it for reliability hands down. 16 rd mags. Feels good in the hand, has a Holster, Mag holder and loader-assist(because the last 6 rounds are hard on the old thumb). Best buy for the money. Accuracy is great also. I would...

Lee Classic Turret Kit for beginner

I just bought the Lee classic Turret Press about a month ago and it is Great! Check with Midwayusa.com for the best price. They run it for $94 on sale or $104 at the regular price. Buy about 3 or 4 extra Turrets; you will need 1 for every caliber you plan to reload. (This will save set up...

So you want to buy your girlfriend/wife a gun

Of course your should let your wife/gf choose their own gun. I too had to learn this the hard way. When my daughter was planning her wedding with my wife, I was complaining to a lady co-worker about the price of a wedding cake. she gave me some wise advice which I took to heart. she said I...

    M1A choice

Both styles are great rifles. I really think the only way to be happy is to get both. I have the standard with the fiberglass stock, but I have to say the SOCOM with the 16.25" barrel is truly a BAD LOOKING WEAPON. I have a severe craving for one.

How durable are the entry level 1911s?

I've had my Rock Island 45 for a while now and it just keeps on going. Also, if I may say, I will put it up against most any 45. When you can hit skeet off the bank at 75yds every time, I don't know what else you can ask of a 1911.

    New Rock Island Owner

Found a used full size 1911 Rock Island .45 at a local gun store. There was not a scratch on it and had Hogue grips already on it. It really felt great in the hand. I’ve read several forums on these guns and have yet to read anything really bad about them so, I took a chance on this one...

    New grips for a 1911

+1 on the Hogue Grips. I just purchased a Rock Island and shot it today. Th egrips really made the pistol steady in my hand in the cold. My guess is that it will work well in the heat also. You won't be disappointed.

Best "out of box" polymer 9mm.

Best out of the box would be my XD9 Sub-Compact. Did not clean it prior to shooting a 150 rounds or so. I have since run 1000 rounds with not even one problem. I mean nada. I will get another full size XDM next. My best pistol yet. Hence my Moniker

    M1A vs M1 Garand

Since I had an M-14 in Basic and Viet Nam, I am somewhat partial to the M1A. So much so that I recently purchased one. My Advice to you is this. If you plan on target shooting AND hunting, go with the M1A. If you plan on Hunting and only shoot enough to sight your weapon in, go for the...

    Midway Coupon Codes

Rats! I just forked out $450 at Midway last week for 2 tactical scopes and a M1A scope mount.

Why the hate on the XD's?

I see that there are a few Glock Lover's/XD Haters posting here. They both have their strongpoints. However, I did the research and came up with the XD9 Subcompact for the size and capacity. Also I looked up the XD (Extreme Duty) testing and it was very impressive. You can read the article...

M1A Recoil: Wood Stock vs. Synthetic

HERKYGUY has the right idea, however, Fred's is out of synthetic stocks and has been for a while. Try this instead. Buy the M1A with Synthetic then buy a real M-14 stock from Fred's. he has any quality wooden stock you could want starting at about $25 up to over $100. Walnut or Birch...

    ULTIMATE 9MM carry gun?

KAHR CW9 Slim, lightweight and it can fit in my front pocket of any pants with a No. 4 Blackhawk Pocket Holster. Also carries well on a paddle holster. It has a full grip for anyone with normal size hands and is fun to shoot at the range without kicking out of your grip. It is just ever so...

Picked up a Sig 522 today!

I've had my 522 for about 3 months now. It is a dream to shoot and very accurate. I was able to get 3 more Black Dog mags online for very little. I've not had even one hiccup with this rifle. You got a better deal than I did however. I had to pay $345 for mine. It was still a good deal even at...
