way kewl ... new "frameless" modular sig 250 DAO

Nice looking blaster. Had a chance to fondle on the other day and it will be worth a second look when the 45 version shows up. Trigger was very nice for a DAO, much better than any revocler I have handles even performance center units. Price was $635 which ist so bad since its brand new. Its not...

Opinions on Hornady XTP for defensive use?

Of the JHP ammo I tried the XTP and TAP were the most reliable and accurate out of my P30, HK45 and G21. Dont see any issues.

    HK P30 Review (Heavy Pics)

usp9 is correct in that you could run the P30 as SAO and rely on the firing pin and hammer blocks as the only safeties, but I dont think many people are going to be too comfortable doing so.

    HK P30 Review (Heavy Pics)

Given the amount of litigation surrounding Silicates of late, that little packet may be the sole reason for the inhumane price :)

    HK P30 Review (Heavy Pics)

The sights are different to say the least. I am not sold on the whole Superluminova thing. Great for watches, but I am not so sure its the best thing for gun sights. For one, the rears tend to glow brighter since they are exposed to more light, not being tucked into a holster and all. I dont...

    HK P30 Review (Heavy Pics)

bannockburn, I wasn't all that hot on the decock system either till I got a chance to use it. Its definitely not ambidextrous, but does work very well for a righty. I also like that it leaves the profile of the gun clean. Since there is no safety there really is no reason to have levers on the...

    HK P30 Review (Heavy Pics)

The price is a bummer for sure. Although, I have seen prices drop by about $100 over the past week or so. I would think that if the price settles down around the $700 price it may be worth it. Given that it is HK i doubt that it will get that low. HK may end up pricing itself out of the...

    HK P30 Review (Heavy Pics)

Having spent the day cleaning out the garage, including the safe, I headed over to my local shop to sell off a rifle that hasn’t seen the light of day in a couple of years. Low and behold, what do I run across as soon a I enter the store, but an HK P30 fresh out of its UPS shipper and barely...

    Smith & Wesson M&P9 Review (Dial-Up Beware)

Not sure what issues you are referring to with the 9. I know that some of the early models had some issues, but they were addressed with the change to Rev N. My unit has been 100% reliable from day 1. The one failure was definitely ammo related and not the gun. I has given it back to the...

    Concealing CCWs

investing in quality holster and belt will make a HUGE difference. As will your ability to shift your attire. If you can get away with wearing untucked shirts you will be surprised what you can hide under a T-Shirt, Polo, Hawaiian-like shirt. I am in TX and currently carry a G21SF without...

    Looking for a 45ACP

All the guns mentioned are great guns. I have owned the XD45, own an MP9 (wife's gun) and currently carry a G21SF as my CCW. The difference between the G21 and G21SF were like night and day for me. I could not believe that such a "little" change to the backstrap could have such a huge impact...

    Walther P99 .40 cal vs 9mm

I never fired the 9mm, but did own the 40 for a few months. As far as the gun goes, its a great gun. Feels good in the hand, trigger is good, but the transition from DA tp SA took some time to master. In my unit there was a VERY big difference between the 2 trigger pulls. Nothing that cant...

    Smith & Wesson M&P9 Review (Dial-Up Beware)

zahc, Sorry for the delayed response. I am not sure what the complete list of upgrades is from the top of my head. The biggest one is a change in the striker design. There are some more. If you go to MP-Pistol.com you an search the forums there and get the complete list.

    Smith & Wesson M&P9 Review (Dial-Up Beware)

Glad you guys like the review. I spent a good amount of time over the the MP forums and did a lot of reading before taking the plunge. My model is a Revision N which is the latest and greatest. If youre buying a 9 or 40 in full size look for it on the inside surface of the dust cover. The...

    Laser Training Systems

I have a Bullite for mt 45 and while it is OK, I am finding that I spend more time just dry firing without it. I have not had any issues with it aside from not being centered, so I have to orient it in a certain way to make the laser hit POA. I also find that the targets arent as reflective as...
