Any news on what exactly was used? I've heard a rifle and several pistols were on scene but no specifics.

The only reports I've heard were 3 handguns and an AR type rifle. He had more guns at home. Also heard they were legally bought, but the officer wouldn't confirm all were bought by the shooter. I'm sure others have more info.

The local news this afternoon said he had 6 guns, extra magazines, and a flak jacket in his possession at the school. They didn't break down specifics but said he had handguns and at least one rifle with him at the school.

From CNN -

Investigators found 13 firearms connected to shooter, Celinez Nunez of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said.

Five pistols and one rifle were found at the college, where the shooter died Thursday after a gunbattle with police, Nunez told reporters.

Police searched his apartment and found two pistols, four rifles and a shotgun, she said.

All the guns were legally obtained by the shooter or family members over the last three years through a federally licensed firearms dealer, she said. A flak jacket was found next to a rifle at the school with five magazines of ammunition, Nunez said, and additional ammunition was found at the residence.

Dont be surprised if any of that changes. early reports are notoriously flawed.

Early reports from unconfirmed sources, yes they tend to vary wildly. Official comments, on the record, by named members of the ATF - not so much.

When specific and accurate information is available this might be worth discussing from the perspective of thwarting the Antis calling for all sorts of new gun restrictions when the firearms aren't known yet, but until then we'll wait instead of dealing in idle speculation.
