I like watching Hickok45 and am entertained but agree that his vids are just a little too long.
He is a great shot but I have not run across a vid where I know what the distances are for his targets.
To hit that big gong or a ram silhouette with a short barrel pistol free standing impresses me. Hitting the closer ones just about every time with all those different handguns is also pretty darn good shooting.
I almost exclusively end up watching Hickok or Duelist videos on youtube.

He gets long winded, but I find his video's informative. I have purchased firearms based on his video's.

He is a great shot! and he is not afraid to miss either or edit his video to show hits only. I like that about him.

I love the bit of the slip on recoil pad on the 10/22! He's like 6' 8"? needs that extra LOP! Still funny what he says.

sigsmoker, he has a couple of videos from a few years back where he gives a range tour and discusses the various targets. The big gong he shoots most is at 80 yards, and there is another one at the top of that hill he occasionally shoots which is out at 230 yards. If I remember right, I think I've seen one video where he hits it with a snubbie. Yeah, he's a pretty good shooter. He used to be a competitive shooter years ago.

I love his vids. They are a little long sometimes, but he is fun to watch and listen to. Seems like a guy I'd love to spend an afternoon on the range with.

Lovem! Great vid's. When I get another new computer that's faster that's going to be the first thing I do is watch more of them! Makes me always want to buy another toy!:D

Hickok 45

I really enjoy his videos. His Glock bias shows through. That is OK with me because I respect his opinion. I also have bought guns based on his suggestion. His 40 M&P video convinced me to try a used police trade in from Bud's. I bought an M&P 40C and liked it so much that I also got the full sized M&P 40. He is honest on his opinions of guns he reviews. Sometimes his videos get long winded but that is what fast forward is for.

Hickok45 does not reload 9mm or 38 spl that and crushed lime stone is what you are hearing.
Pretty sure he does reload 9mm. I recall a video where he said he was shooting some 9mm handloads.

I know he's said multiple times he doesn't reload .38 Special.

I noticed the sound of "BRASS" being stepped on and kicked around the first time I watched one of his video's a long time back.
It made me cringe...!!!!!

He get tons of factory ammo and must have a bunch of "1f" brass already squirreled away to be stepping all over good brass.??

Overall, I like his vids...some are pretty long but he seems to get into some details.

TxD

hickok45 does have a video showing some reloading of 9mm.
I too agree that his videos are the best.
Oh yeah, now that I remember, that 30 minute reloading video he did started with a 9mm.

I guess the confusion about his reloading of 9mm comes from him saying that there's almost no savings reloading 9mm to buying the cheaper 9mm ammo at low prices. 9 is so cheap it's almost not worth the time of reloading it over other calibers.

... him saying that there's almost no savings reloading 9mm to buying the cheaper 9mm ammo at low prices. ...
I remember my Dad teaching me Reloading Math.

At the time, it cost us ~5¢ to reload one round of 7.92x57 with a jacketed 150gr FBSP Sierra bullet (propellant 1.5¢, primer 0.6¢, bullet 2.9¢) ... so if we could source 8mm ammo for about that price, why bother with the whack-a-mole Lee Loader. ;)

He made a deal with the Devil.... BUDS;)

Gets his ammo for nothing and his guns for Free.

Sing along to Dire Staits ,Money for Nothing

I used to watch him all the time. Now that he is sponsored and pushing guns for a retailer, not so much.

He is a fine shot with a hand gun, though.

Hickok45

Greg is a great shot. Speaks from the heart as well.

He is an unusual fellow.

I believe he is a good man. I love the videos!!!!!

He never, "quits shooting on a miss!"

"I know it's only rock 'n roll-but I like it, like it-yes I do!"

Just found a short vid on his distances. Still and all, shooting 80 yds free standing with those revolvers and semi auto pistols and hitting the gong with ease is quite impressive.

I don't care for all the sponsors he's picked up. Bud's I think is fine because he can get his hands on new guns easier, Federal is okay, but not always. Target ammo is all the same, so Federal is fine there, but when it comes to handguns and hollow points, I want to see him do more variety to test for reliability.

Federal makes HST and Hydra Shock. I can't find HST easily and Hydra Shock is old stuff. If Hickok would do the HST, Hydra, Gold Dots, Hornady XTP/FTX, Winchester JHP, and some Golden Sabers. I know it's our job as owners to find out what defensive ammo works best in our guns, but it helps if we have as much info as possible. Hickok has the biggest gun channel on youtube and I think he's doing a disservice not delving into a greater variety of hollow points with handguns.

As for SDI, I just flat out do not care for that sponsor. SDI does nothing to contribute to the channel in any way. Unlike Bud providing guns, Federal providing ammo, and even Ballistol to clean the guns, SDI is worthless to every viewer of the Hickok45 channel.
