Perhaps it's James Bond's fault. I don't know but with all the new 9mm ammo, I want another one. I know there are a lot to choose from and perhaps Walther is not the best choice. BUT! I want one. Any help on choosing which model and why any you are my new best friend. Any rational reason why not choose this weapon and your my new favorite teacher. I'm going forward with the 40 to 9 modifications offered by Lone Wolf to my Glock and I also have my first pistol, a Beretta 92fs. I really like the idea of a threaded barrel and enjoy the purchase and manufacturing of all the available add on's. Thanks guys. Last, is that a new, and very old Beretta that Bond is holding in his new movie?

IMHO any Walther made in the ULM plant in Germany is good to go as in the PPQ/P99/PPS.

I own a 9MM PPQ and PPS, which is a single stack subcompact, and for me both are superb weapons. I will probably own a P99 AS some day also with it's unique trigger system that emulates a hammer fired DA/SA trigger action with a decocker. Maybe the P99C AS double stack subcompact.

My PPQ 9MM.

I have the PPQ m2 5" and absolutely love it. Granted it is only my 2nd auto pistol ever owned. I started off with a Ruger SR9 but just couldn't get used to the trigger. The PPQ trigger is awesome. Although some people think it may be a little too light for a ccw. They may be right, but I don't carry mine. It is just a range gun. That's also why I got a 5" barrel for the longer sight radius. And lastly, it just looks so damn cool!

I prefer DA/SA so the P99 is my favorite Walther. PPQs are great shooters though, but as mentioned, a tad too light for me.

Love my PPQ, but want to get a P99c for carry.

Favorite gun hands down and shoots better (for me at least) than anything. The only thing that comes close is my girlfriend's M9.

I have both the P99AS and P99cAS as well as PPS. All fantastic. I shoot that PPS nearly as well as my full size guns.

Get the PPQ. Best out of the box trigger available on a non-1911 handgun. I think the threaded barrel is a waste of money, but they have a threaded version available.

P99 has a lighter trigger in SA than the PPQ. (4.5 vs. 5-5.5)

So it depends if you want SA/DA with decocker or single action only.

Thanks guys! Pretty much exactly what I was thinking. Next to being a very solid platform I really got to agree with edg, one damn awesome looking weapon!

was going to get a Glock 26 because wanted something in between my pocket carry guns (Taurus 738 and Sig P938) and my compact (CZ P01). Then I stumbled on to the P99c AS. Looks perfect to me as I prefer DA/SA. Even put the P938 up for sale to pay for. Don't really need 2 that small and the 738 is actually a much nicer pistol than I expected it to be.

Just bought a new Walther PPS in 9 and it is a great carry gun! Easiest I have had to conceal.

German quality design.

The PPS was (I think) the only quality striker fired single stack compact nine when it came out, to generally good reviews. I bought one and paid a pretty penny for it.

Since then some competition has come about including the S&W Shield, the Springfield XD-S and the single stack Glock.

I have noticed the price of the PPS coming down. It's a good time to buy one, in my opinion.

Exactly what sigarms228 said .

I have the PPQ and PPS as well (carry PPS)....there is still nothing that has come out that is a better (all around) single stack than the PPS imho .

All guns coming out of the original (before Umarex) Ulm plant are very high quality, the rest of the Walther line that comes out of the Arnsberg (Umarex) plant are not near the same quality. Be careful tho, and dont be fooled, as Umerex has tried to hide this fact by having just enough assembly work done in (or parts from) the Ulm plant, so they can stamp the Ulm name on the side.

I shot a friends PPQ just the other day and was very impressed with the trigger for this style pistol. I was able to shoot very nice groups with it and I may add one to my collection.
