I am going to put an order in for a bunch of bullets and was wondering what experience you have had with zero bullets? What is your favorite bullet?

I have used their 158 gr. JSP bullets. Those were of good quality. And good pricing. They were bought through Powder Valley.

Favorite bullets, depends on what caliber we're talking about. :)

Zero 148 HBWC is by far the most accurate bullet in my model 19. 1.5" 10 shot groups at 25 yards out if a ransom rest. Compared to 4" with Missouri bullets wadcutters and semi wad cutters.

Their hollow point bullets in 45 rule the roost in bullseye at 25 and 50 yards. I haven't tested their 45 bullets yet, but I have three boxes waiting on my bench.

I should have said I am going for 9mm, 40 S&W, and 45 acp. I was looking at Powder Valley.

Yeah tried them once! Shot lots of zero's!
Switched to precision delta. Shot lots of x's!

Seriously, not a fan of zero bullets, they just didn't do as well as Precision Delta.Talking about swaged lead bullets, not jacketed. Shot a lot of .38 hbwc back in '80's and '90's. PD were better and cheaper.

I shot a lot of their bullets in early '70's, but they discontinued jacketed for a number of years, they once produced some rifle caliber bullets. However, they had a reputation for being "hard" and failing to expand.

I've used a bunch of Zero FMJ bullets over the years, but have switched over to the Rocky Mountain Reloading (RMR) match plated bullets. Can be loaded just as fast as FMJ and are more accurate. Jake is a good member here, and runs a fine place! Lots of great threads in this forum, search around. He even offers a discount...

I have shot zero a few times in the past but always switched back to plated. I prefer Xtreme plated for cost and accuracy. I am trying a polymer coated lead from the blue bullet now and they seem pretty good plus i cant beat .07 per when shooting action pistol games

I have had very good luck with them. I like to use their 125 Gr .356 bullet for hot Super Super loads (Although others also work), and my CZ 97 loves their 185 Gr JHP.

I like em for non magnum loading, but not for magnum loads.

Let me elaborate a bit, the canelure is very shallow, and also when compared to XTP's, Nosler JHP, Gold Dots, Sierra, the common name brands in other words.

The problem with the super shallow canelure is there isn't enough canelure to crimp into for H110 / 296 loads, thus bullet pull has been a problem for me. I didn't experience any bullet pull with max charged +P 38 spcl. Longshot loads. But when I tested the H110 / 296 loads, the first cylinder of H110 / 296 resulted in one or two bullets completely defeating the crimp. So I just load then in non magnum applications.

Other wise, I like them just fine. They were really accurate from my revolvers, their .40 cal. bullets performed very well also.

My experience is very different - NO bullet pull for me at all, even with max power .357 magnum loads with both 125g and 158 grain Zero bullets. And just looking at them the cannelure looks totally normal, not shallow in any way. I also do not get any bullet setback in my lever gun or auto loading pistols. And I have shot several thousand of them over the past year.

Here is a picture of a Speer 158g JHP and a Zero 158g JSP side by side. The Zero cannelure is wider than the Speer, but of similar depth. When I put the bullets in the jaws of my calipers, I can see light through the cannelure depression on both bullets.

Roze Distributing is often out of stock in the popular sizes, but when I can get them Zero jacketed bullets are my absolute favorite for .40 S&W and .38/.357 loads. And the prices are great.

No, there nothing wrong with the diameter, it's what it should be in everything I've used them in, 9mm, .357, and .40 cal to be specific. But if you measure the canelure depth on the 38/357 bullets, it's clearly much shallower than the branded bullets, Speer, Sierra, Hornady and such. In fact, there's hardly even an actual canelure, very little depression, and more so a cosmetic appearance of a canelure.

As for full house magnum loads, the only one's I've had pulling occur with, was with my H110 loads.

I'm not bashing Zero, not at all, I use them myself and love them, just not for my full house magnum H110 loads.
