Mora Garberg with full tang

Welll, a full tang Mora is a specialty product for a luxury market segment that won't mind paying that for a knife. There's also no reason for Morkniven to leave that market to others who've moved into it.

Mora knives are a best buy at their price level. I hope a full tang version does not run $100.00 because there are a number of outstanding knives at that price level, and I don't see why a full tang version should be that more expensive.

MSRP of $100 probably comes out around $75-$85 on the street.

Mora isn't considering this competition for their other knives or vice versa. They've gone to a different level here, whether it serves any purpose other than to meet the requests of knife nuts for a higher end Mora.

I was wondering when Mora was going to develop one of those. I have to admit, though, that I've beat on the carbon steel rat tail version, and not even the Robust model, without snapping it. Snapping one can be done (there are pictures of fractured Moras online), but the knives are tougher than I expected. Given that and the price increase on this one, I'm not sure the improvement's worth the price. Maybe. I also prefer the Companion handle, which is just about perfectly contoured.

I am, ever since I bought a Companion last year, a lover of Mora products, too. In fact, I just gave one as a gift to some hunters I know because they loved using mine so much. I'm just a little skeptical on this one.

The $10 Mora is a product that stands virtually alone in the pantheon of high value/cost knives. I have four of them in my kitchen knife block to replace the cruddy Kitchen Aid table knives that came with it, one in each of my vehicles and a couple in both the basement and garage as utility tools.

The $100 Mora has a metric ton of competition from knives that aren't machine blanked from Sandvik steel and don't have injection molded handles. I know there's a curve of diminishing returns, but I don't see it as being 10X better than the old reliable one.

MoraNaive

Morakniv started ripping people off when they painted the HighQ Robust green, named it the Companion HD, and increased its price by 1/3rd. Then they launched the Bushcraft Black shtuff: the price here was half again as much as it should possibly be but some of it was even "tactical" -- oooolala. Then the Pathfinder series -- two-thirds higher than they even bothered to excuse. And now this latest bushwhacker wanna-be nonsense... Double priced. Face it...

Mora is riding the wave of US Dollars on the back of cheap and ignorant Americans treading water in a a sea of fear all the way back to their fjords by pushing above-average diner steak knives with plastic handles and puuko sheaths. Sorry, but that's the truth.
