I am fairly new to CA been here just about two years. I am very happy living here, a beautiful state! I am in the process of purchasing (& believe me, it is a process) my first gun, what a "trip" I can understand having some regulations pertaining to the purchase of firearms but the process here is just short of ridiculous (I won't bore anyone with details unless someone wants to hear them) I find it hard to believe some of this B/S isn't challenged, can anyone point me in the right direction to voice my opinion & support. I heartily second that opinion, Calguns is the place that every California gun owner should check out. In this state, you really need to know more about the gun laws and what they actually say and how they are actually enforced than LEOs and in some cases, even the DA. There are hundreds of traps that California gun owners can fall into if they don't know the byzantine guns laws.
Example: Did you know that you can buy Tannerite/Binary targets at any California gun show or Dicks Sporting Goods? Perfectly legal. Did you know if you mix the target and or actually detonate it, instant felony? This is just one example of the gotchas that the CA DOJ and the DAs can use to send you to prison just for being a gun owner. If they allow it to be sold here, then why can't I use it? Because California gun laws are designed to discourage the average citizen from owning guns and the more gray area the legislators leave in the way the laws are written, the more latitude they have to prosecute law abiding (or trying to be law abiding) citizens, stripping them of their 2A rights after they are convicted.
Educate yourself, it is imperative that you do if you want to stay in this state and own guns.
