Id be willing to bet that some would decide to use a single stage for sizing, because a turret by design, must have a bit of clearance in the rotating parts.
Being stationary, a single stage does not need any clearance, and so is arguably more consistant during all phases of cartridge prep and construction.
I honestly dont know, I just tried to empathize and pulled that answer out, proctologist style.
I do know that my dear ol' Lyman SparT is not near as smooth during rotation as it used to be, and despite proper maintenance, its clearances vary depending on which station its sitting at. I blame that on the decades of sizing a kajillion rifle rounds.
