...and one of them came home with me. I'd been considering a compact CZ for some time, but I wasn't as big a fan of the PCR as I thought I would be. The P-01, however, seems to balance just right. Usually I don't care about rails one way or the other but it may be that the rail on the P-01 adds a touch of weight at the muzzle that helps the balance. And I know it's a little thing that's easily corrected, but I don't understand why the PCR doesn't ship with rubber base pads on the magazines when the P-01 does. They make a big difference in my hands.

My matte stainless CZ-75B now has a companion. The heft of the all-steel models make them easy guns to shoot all day long, but in 9mm an alloy frame isn't much of a handicap for shooting and makes carry much easier. When I bought the 75B several years ago I was usually carrying a 1911 so a model with a safety fit my desires at the time - not that I've ever carried it. These days I prefer DA/SA or DAO so a lightweight decocker model makes more sense. I don't know if I'll ever carry the P-01 either but it's nice to have both types in the collection. It really is a nice trigger, although the long reset can take some getting used to and result in the dreaded CZ trigger slap until you learn how to manage it smoothly. I still think the stainless gun is prettier though.

I do think CZ makes some of the most attractive guns around. Even the blunt-nosed rail-equipped models are fairly trim and the 75B is a classic that wears a matte stainless finish especially well. And speaking of classics, a Mauser action in a full stock - in this case a .22LR CZ 452 FS - may be the prettiest rifle ever to grace the woods.

The 2075 has been in the back of my mind for a long long time. This thread is not helping.

Great choice! When I found a store that carries CZs I had my choice between a P01 and a P07. By far the P01 had the best feel to it and had a nice balance to it in the way it handled. The grip frame design was very reminiscent of my favorite 9mm., the Browning Hi-Power.

I agree that the PCR feels better if you add the rubber base pad. In fact, even the full size guns do. The PCR is designed for carry, so no rail and no rubber base.

I also agree about the awesomeness of the BHP!

And I can't post anything about CZ handguns without recommending the CGW Ultra-Lite kits for all of the guns. They are great, and inexpensive. :)

I just had my PO1 out Sunday and putt about 150 to 200 rounds of mixd ammo through CZ 18 round mags, 14 rounder with rubber base plate and 16 round mec gars flawless! I have a 75, 75 compact , Dedicated Kadet and a two tone 85 combat. Love them all> Enjoy.

Nice that could get your Hi-Power in the CZ family portrait! Looks right at home there!

Nice to feel all the CZ love. I must admit, while I see a certain resemblance between the CZ 75 and the Hi Power, I've always thought CZs felt more SIG-like in the hand than anything else.
