> under $200

Have you priced the bases and rings already, and does your rifle already have tapped holes for the bases?

The rifle came with bases and yes, I've looked at and priced rings. The under $200 number is just a guide, not a hard stop and I'm not counting rings in that. Any ring recommendations? Burris appears to have some that I might look closer at. The Signature Rings come to mind. The XTR Signature Rings look interesting but I think they might be a few degrees of overkill for my needs.

Haxby, thanks for the recommendation on the article. I'll read it.

In that price range I like Weaver. I have a couple Grand Slam's. Also a 44/40. Also I have a Redfield that I like as well.

Had a crossfire and shot the reticle loose with a 308 lever action of course it was replaced free of charge immediately, with NO hassle at all, I upgraded to the viper line have 3 of these and the HST no problems what so ever, Vortex works for me, My HST IMO is every bit as good as my buddy's 1500.00 Leupold after shooting my vortex he agreed that he couldn't tell any difference except cost
