I've had two and while they were both great guns, I could never really get into them all that much mainly because of the fact that both of them hard very sharp corners and tool marks that I just couldn't get over. For a close to 800 dollar gun I expect a finished quality product not what I'd consider to be a factory second.

Must not have been a big batch, because they are out again.

I have a Model 0818, and have not experienced sharp corners or tool marks. Or maybe my Ruger expectations are different than yours.

For a company marketing it as an "exclusive" with the Lipsey's brand and charging more for it, yeah I do expect it to have great quality and finish , but when my regular super blackhawks and vaqueros are better made for 300 bucks less then we got a problem here, they were completely serviceable guns but I just felt (at least the ones I had) could've had better quality control.

When I received mine and took it to the range after a thorough cleaning and inspection, I found fit and finish to be excellent, but the loading gate spring was not fitted properly and the loading gate flopped open and tied up the gun. I took it home, did a complete detail strip, re-fitted the spring and have not had any problems since. I agree that Ruger could do a better job of quality control, but for this type of gun at this price, you are still getting a bargain. If you want higher quality go Freedom Arms. For me, this Ruger is the bomb... very comfortable to shoot, even full house loads, and very accurate. I can easily hit a man sized target at 75 yards with mine all day long.

I'm not defending Ruger quality control, per se. Two out of my four Ruger SAs had to be returned and fixed because of issues. The Bisley was not one of them, and I've found fit and finish to be uniformly good on all of them.

I must be a really lucky guy! I've got half a dozen Ruger revolvers a couple of autos and a rifle or two. Each one is a gem. Never had a problem with any of my Rugers. A 45 colt Blackhawk of mine required the rear sight to be cranked up almost all the way with one of my favorite loads, so I called Ruger and they sent me a higher rear sight blade at no cost. Ruger has a great product line and has always provided me with customer service better than I ever expected.

But, perhaps it is just me and my sparkling personality.
