Which of the Federal HST loads are bonded and which are not? This is for 9mm. I thought the 124gr. and 147gr. loads were not bonded, while the 135gr. load is. Now I'm seeing a 150gr. load on their website too.

Is "Tactical" written on every box of HST, or does it denote bonded/not bonded? Something else?

In addition, for those that have seen testing of both, how much more effective is bonded HST at penetrating barriers? I'm looking for a round that penetrates barriers poorly (yes I know about shot placement, safe angles, etc. I just figure given the choice I'd rather have a round that is less likely to go through wood, brick, glass, etc.).

The HST line is not a bonded design, The tactical bonded is. They all say Tactical on the box or at least the 50 round boxes do.

I've never seen an example where the HST lead came out of the jacket and there are a lot of gel tests out there for the HST

HST is premium JHP ammo. Today guy had 50 round boxes for 124gr HST loads at $25 per box. That is excellent price I would have bought crate except I'm moving away from 9x19 and soon will have zero guns in this caliber.

The non +P works well in my DB9. It is the only hollowpoint that dies and it is very reliable.

That is all you need I have never used +P, +P+ or 'NATO' marked ammunition. I would use inexpensive 'NATO' ball in full sized range gun no problemo.

Good man.

Jeff Cooper would have liked to hear you say this... :D

But I digress.

Federal's HST load is my go-to commercially-loaded cartridge in .45ACP
