A few weeks ago I bought a Springfield Champion (commander length slide, full size grip). I intend to carry this when I'm packing IWB. I bought a cheap Blackhawk nylon IWB holster. It's flimsy and I feel like the clip could break whenever...but damn if it's not comfortable! I like the slimness and the easy on-off of the single centered clip. I much prefer this over the Aliengear I carry my Shield in.

Any advice on similar holsters that are a little more sturdy but similar in design?

Thanks.

While a nylon holster with a kydex/plastic clip may be useable for a small poly-gun, leather or kydex, with loops typically are more secure for a heavier gun like a Champion size 1911.

I'd look at any of the many Summer Special type holsters, made by just about everybody, in either leather or kydex.

Milt Spark Summer Special/Summer Special II http://www.miltsparks.com/products-inside.php

in kydex there is JM Custom Kydex #3 IWB http://www.jmcustomkydex.com/p/IWB3.html

There are lots, and lots of similar products from just about everybody that makes a holster.

The Milt Sparks Versa-Max II, with its offset loops is pretty thin, & very secure.

A good belt is a necessity-I have used the Milt Sparks gunbelts for several years, but am now using the Bigfoot gunbelt. The this steel insert seems to be the trick-no sag & holds everything where you want it.

Thanks for all the replies! That Galco looks like it might be just what I'm looking for.

Before I started CCing I mainly wore preppy nylon embroidered belts. Doesn't work when packing IWB, especially if you have my combination of absurdly high hip bones and a flat rear end. I've got a Crossbreed leather belt and a nylon rigger belt--both seem to do the job pretty well.

I'd recommend having a look at the Blackpoint Tactical Mini Wing Holster. I have one for my P226 and P229 and one on the way for my Wilson Combat CQB Compact. Nice low profile kydex holster that balances the weight of a heavy gun well in a pretty minimalist package.

I carry a Springfield Loaded 1911 or the Springfield champion inside the waist using a Crossbreed holster. Check them out.
