I wouldn't attack you for modifying one. The M37 has only been made since the mid 1930s, not sure how rare they are.

The Ithaca 37 had the longest production run of any pump shotgun in the history of the earth. In other words, they are not rare. but good, clean versions are harder to come by as many people are holding onto them because they are an excellent handling and shooting gun. Beat up examples can be had for cheap but probably need a refreshing.

Please edit your statement Charger, the Ithaca still in production today.

Do not refer to it as if the factory has stopped production.

The earlier guns with 2 3/4 inch chambers are lighter since the receiver is shorter and handle so much faster.
