Same kit is used for the other shooting games. You need mag pouches specific to the calibre and firearms used. The belt needs to be strong and stiff enough to hold the weight and not allow the holster and pouches to move around. And your budget matters.
USGI issue kit works well and doesn't cost a fortune. Assuming you're using some flavour of AR. Then you'll need a holster and mag pouches for whatever pistol you have. Look around at matches and see what others are using.
I make all my own leather stuff. Isn't difficult but requires some relatively inexpensive tools. Those can be made too though.
IDK about 2-gun, but Double-Alpha belts and mag pouches seem to be the default/standard for USPSA/IPSC. I think the Safariland belt system gets some more love in 3-gun because of the ease of mounting/dismounting the shtogun shell holders.
