Just a simple question.

What was the first semi auto handgun you ever shot, and what was the first one you purchased?

First one I shot was a S&W Sigma a friend owned.......... I think. It might have been a Ruger Mark III that another guy owned.

First I ever bought was a Stoeger Cougar in 40 S&W. I sold it to my dad years ago and it's the one handgun he owns.

The first I shot was some tiny 25 ACP. I don't recall the make. First I owned was a Glock 19.

Edit: now that I think on it, a Ruger MkIII Hunter was my first semi auto.

A 70 series Colt Gold Cup National Match for both questions. Unfortunately, it was also the first I ever sold. (Due to financial problems, not gun problems). I do wish I still had it.
 
My dad's Remington Rand 1911A1 was the first semiautomatic I ever shot. The first one that I purchased was a Colt Combat Commander in .45acp and stain nickel.

Dad's Smith and Wesson 22 cal.
I don't know the model but it was the coolest thing as a kid.

The first pistol bigger than .22 was Dad's Browning Hi-Power in 9mm.
Still one of the coolest guns out there.

First pistol I purchased was a Sig P239 that is still my primary carry piece.
 
Shot a friend’s Ruger Mark II once when I lived in a state where I wasn’t legally allowed to even handle a pistol.

Bought a police trade in HK P7 when I moved to a free state many years later and carried it for quite some time.
 
A Ruger MkII when I was briefly in ROTC.
Smith & Wesson 915, because I could still get full-capacity magazines though the "high-capacity" magazine ban had come along.
 
A 1960's Hi-Standard 22 somewhere around 75. First semi auto I bought was a PT92 in 1987, then I won one on a tip board a week later.
 
Growing up shooting with Dad I was limited to revolvers.

First semi I shot was a friend's Keltec .380. Don't remember what model.

First semi I bought was my TP9SA.
 
Browning Hi-power 9mm, Browning Buckmark Camper....still have both, tho honestly its only been 15-16yrs
 
First semi-auto I fired was in the police academy, my Sig P226 in 9mm, which is what I had to buy for my duty weapon. Still is my favorite handgun, even though I have a few others now.
 
A friends 1911. First bought a High Standard Supermatic Citation. Bought in 1970 and unfortunately sold a few years later.
 
Colt .22 lr 1911, prolly the Ace conversion, during boot camp at Great Lakes RTC, North Chicago, 1978. First bought a Kimber 1911/45 in the early '90s. (Poc)
