I had good luck with a SARCO barrel and hardened rollers in my CZ-52

I bought a CZ-52 surplus within the last year or so, and while the gun has been 100% reliable, it was nowhere near as accurate as this chambering (7.62 x 25) was reputed to be. I thought about replacing the barrel, and found new-ish or used ones on ebay.

Then I found a place online called SARCO that is selling barrels advertised as new for 59 bucks. Guessing they're unused surplus, but I don't know. There's no serial # or markings on it. I ordered one, and while the exterior finish of the barrel was no better than my existing barrel, the bore was as perfect and unused as could be.

I ALSO ordered some of those hardened rollers (for the locking breach) that CZ -52 owners rave about. The original rollers aren't hardened steel and said to wear out. I ordered the replacements from EBAY, but sorry, I can't remember who the seller was. If you search ebay, you'll find them easily.

Anyway, the result has been very positive. Groups have shrunk a lot. Still not a tack driver, and it starts to shoot low after the barrel warms up, but it's a usable gun now. So if you're having inexplicably bad accuracy with your CZ-52, you may consider the upgrades I made. Not too expensive. Free shipping on the rollers.

Unfortunately, I can't say which contributed more to the improved accuracy - barrel or rollers. I'm guessing barrel. I'm thinking I'll try some different ammo, too , and see if that helps. I believe S&B is what I used the other day. I just bought some Winchester and ordered some Partizan. Best wishes.

SARCO moved to PA not long ago. They found all kind of things they forgot they had. A few years ago they listed original Enfield stock sets so I ordered one along with a few other things. When my order arrived the stock set was not there. The invoice listed it on back order. I gave them a call and asked how could something that was no longer made be on back order. I was told that they had found a crate of them in one of their wear houses, but had misplaced it. The stock showed up six months later.

Dang, Gunny! You could be their warehouse manager. You know where your stuff is at.

Sarco is just up the road a piece from me.

I had a CZ52, sold it, and now I kind of have an itch for another one...

Interesting. I've got one but I shoot it so rarely that I haven't really worried about replacing any parts. It was the first gun I ever bought with my C&R back when I had it ($99) :).
