I need some pistol brass and I see Midway has Starline brass on sale. Looking for some 44Mag and 380ACP right now. I have never used this brand and was wondering if it holds up OK.
Thanks

Starline comes highly recommended. I use it for 10mm Auto, as it is somewhat hard to come by. I also use SIG 10mm brass, which is also very good.

Good stuff. Sometimes just as well to order right from Starline as I think it's always free shipping with them.
@solman

I would go this route. I purchased 44mag and 38spl from Midway and it came in a ziplock baggie as they claim they buy in bulk. The 44mag wasn't bad but the 38spl length was all over the place and needed to be trimmed. I was a little irritated I had to trim 100pieces of starline brass. The bad part of the deal was most of them were too short and the lee trimmer pilot wouldn't touch them so I trimmed them all down to the shortest pieces but still in SAMMI spec. Kind of made me wonder if they weren't seconds.

Starline has always served me well. Using 44 Mag as an example:
500 Pieces Midway $94.49
500 Pieces Starline $101 including shipping

I doubt even with the slightly lower Midway price you will come out ahead. Once you add in the 380 ACP I would just order direct from Starline.

500s direct from Starline was a good working quantity for me. A little shorter than SAMMI long but consistent within about 2 thousandths. I like loading on the LNL with one brand. With my OCD I baggie them the same size after I deprime wet tumble and size them.

I have only just gotten into reloading so I've only used Starline for my 44 mag, but it's been working great. I can feel the difference compared to the CBC (Magtech) stamped brass I've been using as well.

I use Starline brass, but it's not my favorite. I have quite a bit of it, much of it 'Midway' stamped brass made by Starline from back in the '90's. It does work harden, I'm starting to split a lot of the .45ACP and .38SPC cases while the RP and WW brass of the same vintage is still rocking on.

Other than the really high end stuff like Lapua I would say Starline brass us the best stuff on the market right now. Whenever I need to buy brass I buy Starline.

I agree, buy directly from Starline. The minimum count is 500 but the prices are right. Even with the sale the two combined are the same price as on the Starline site but like said, shipping is free from Starline.

Buy without concerns.

Starline cases are excellent cases.

For handgun, I've settled on Starline cases. I usually buy directly from Starline but sometimes you can get a better price from the the other gun internet emporiums.

I like to get 500 or 1000 cases at a time so that I have some left in reserve.

I have not tried their rifle cases yet but would not hesitate to try them when the need arises. I'm still working off inventory purchased before Starline started adding rifle cases to their catalog.

I shoot Starline in .44 mag, .44 spl, and .357 mag. It's good brass. I have not tried their rifle brass, as I still have loads of once-fired cases in the cartridges I shoot most. But I would not have any hesitancy using Starline rifle cases for hunting loads, although I might favor Lapua if seeking best accuracy.

Starline is the only brass I use for handguns. I have some 38 special Starline that are on their 15th reload. I think its the best you can do for pistol brass.

Some of the Midway branded Starline .38 brass I had split on the 3rd or 4th firing... and this with the mild 4.0grn Unique load I loaded for my mom. I finally had enough of it and junked the entire 1K case lot.

I'm not knocking it... it's cheap and plentiful right now, but it's not my first choice.

I only buy direct from Starline. All my brass has the Starline headstamp.

For pistol (including 44) if I buy brass it is Starline...never had a problem. Most of the brass I use is from once-fired either range pickup or from the rare case where I will shoot commercial ammo - usually when I run a box through a new gun.

Starline is the only pistol brass I'll buy. I have .44Spl and .45Colt cases that have been loaded at least a dozen times.

Starline is the gold standard for pistol brass. I rate other pistol brass by how close it gets to starline quality. Kinda like how people compare other rifle brass to Lapua.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but before Starline was All That and a bag of chips, they used to do private headstamp brass... like Midway and some others. Same same.
